Final Trap Mixed Team

Spain has opened a medal score at the Tokyo Olympics!

Today, at the Olympic Games, medals were played for the first time in the Trap Mixed Team event. 16 teams from 12 countries took part in it.

Alessandra Perilli and Gian Marco Berti from San Marino and Fatima Galvez and Alberto Fernandez from Spain fought for the gold medal match. The athletes qualified for the medal match with the same qualification result. The fight for the first place continued until the last shot. The Spaniards turned out to be stronger and brought their country the first medal in shooting sports. Perilli and Berti won Silver and brought the second medal to San Marino. This is the second Olympic medal in the history of the country.

Zuzana Rehak Stefecekova and Erik Varga from Slovakia and Madelynn Ann Bernau and Brian Burrows from USA also qualified for the bronze medal match with the same qualifying result. The result of the third place was decided by the shoo-off. Madelynn Ann Bernau and Brian Burrows from USA won Bronze in a bitter struggle.

For the first time at the Olympic Games, trap shooting athletes got to take part in two events at once, which became possible after being included in the Mixed Team event program. Thanks to this, gender equality is fully respected in shooting sport from the Tokyo Olympics.
