ISSF President Luciano Rossi and Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, President of the Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) met in Rome yesterday (JUne 24) with Giovanni Malagò, President of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and International Olympic Committee (IOC) member.
ISSF Secretary General Alessandro Nicotra di San Giacomo was also involved in the discussions.along with the CONI Secretary General Carlo Mornati.
One of the main topics of discussion was the future of shooting sport worldwide and Asian Shooting in particular.
The ASC President reaffirmed the support of his organisation to the ISSF and its leadership and later viewed a collection of Olympic Torches used at a succession of Games.
The ISSF President and Secretary General then made a special award of honour to Sheikh Sabah Al-Sabah.and to the CONI President to mark their high level of service to the shooting sport community.
The day before President Rossi had accompanied the ASC President at the Emir Cup 2024 taking place at the Umbriaverde venue in Italy.
Many members of the international shooting sport family were present on this occasion.
The Emir Cup features many world class trap and skeet athletes making their final preparations for this summer’s competition at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
