The 2009 ISSF World Cup Final in Rifle and
Pistol events kicks-off today in Wuxi, China. Eighty-five athletes, qualified
for the finals passing through four World Cup Stages, will compete in the ten
Olympic events of Rifle and Pistol shooting.
Olympic and World Champions, along with
World Cup masters, will compete through the 29th of October for the last title
of the season.
999 shooters participated so far.
Since the ISSF World Cup Finals formula was established in 1988, 999 shooters qualified and took part in
it, including 621 men and 378 women. 85 athletes coming from 29 countries will
compete during the 2009 ISSF World Cup Final in Rifle and Pistol events in
Wuxi, China.
Record Men.
The German record-man Ralf Schumann, the
most successful Rapid Fire Pistol shooter of the world, took part in nineteen
editions of the ISSF World Cup Finals. The Olympic Champion of Sydney 2000,
Slovenia’s Rajmond Debevec, will join Schumann in the lead, competing for the
nineteenth time in a World Cup Final.
