The Olympic Medal Standings of the shooting sports

China ruled the Medal Standings of the shooting sports, winning an impressive number of five Gold medals, and a total of 8 Olympic medals. USA came in second, followed by Czech Republic and Ukraine, tied in third place.

The 50m Rifle Three Positions Men Event closed the Olympic competitions of the shooting sports. Fifteen Olympic shooting events took place between the 9th and the 17th of August, and People’s Republic of China turned out to be the winner of this edition’s medal standings. The host Country gained an impressive total of five gold medals, bettering the result of four Golds reached in Athens, four years ago.
The United States of America followed in second place, with two Gold (both reached in shotgun events), two Silvers and two Bronzes.
Czech Republic ended up in third place, pushed ahead by Katerina EMMONS, the first medallist of the 2008 Olympic Games of Beijing, who secured a Gold and a Silver in Rifle events. Ukraine also finished in third place, thanks to PETRIV and AYVAZIAN, Gold winners in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol and 50m Rifle Prone Men event, respectively.
