Positive Doping Case in Beijing

Unfortunately the ISSF has to report a positive doping case during the Olympic Games in Beijing.

The shooter Jong Su KIM from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea has been tested positive for Propranolol, a Betablocker. The IOC conducted a hearing and the IOC Executive Board took the decision to disqualify the shooter Jong Su Kim from the 10m Air Pistol Men where he placed third and the 50m Pistol Men where he placed second. The IOC further asked the ISSF to further action according to the ISSF Rules.

Accordingly the 3rd place and bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Men event will be awarded to the athlete Jason TURNER from USA.

The 2nd place and silver medal in the 50m Pistol Men event will be awarded to the athlete Zongliang TAN from CHN and the 3rd place and bronze medal will be awarded to the athlete Vladimir ISAKOV from RUS.

The shooter Jong Su KIM is provisionally suspended from all ISSF shooting events and further decision will be taken by the ISSF Executive Committee.
