ISSF President Dr. Olegario Vazquez Raña interviewed by international journalist at the press conference

The ISSF President Dr. Olegario Vazquez Raña was invited by the international journalists to take part in a press conference, where he commented about the organization and the venues of the XXIX Olympiad <em>“These are probably the best Game I have ever seen!”</em> said the President. ISSF Secretary General Horst G. Schreiber answered on possible rules modifications.

The ISSF President Dr. Olegario Vazquez Raña took part in a press conference at the Olympic Shooting Venue of Beijing, today. The President caught the chance to comment the warm welcome received in Beijing “These Games are probably the best I have ever seen, maybe the best Games ever. Our Chinese host did a great job. I was impressed by the Opening Ceremony of this XXIX Olympiad: it has been a great show and a perfect event.”
The considerations of the President also regarded the shooting facilities of the Olympic Venue of Beijing “My first impression is that these facilities are the best in the World, and the best in the history of the Olympic Games.”
The press conference has also been an occasion to talk about the relationships between the ISSF and the IOC, which appears to be strong and collaborative, also considering that the shooting sports assigned the first medal has had happened in previous editions “The first medal of the Games went to shooting. This is a tradition – commented Dr. Olegario Vazquez Raña - The ISSF is in good and close relationships with the IOC, and we received strong support from the IOC and its President, Dr. Jacques Rogge.”
The ISSF Secretary General, Mr. Horst G. Schreiber, answered a question regarding possible rules modification in shooting sport “The ISSF Committees met and made proposals for rules changes. But you can be sure there are no dramatic chances, only minor modifications.”
Closing the press conference with the international press, President Olegario Vazquez Raña saluted the Chinese journalists who had asked him about the chances of the Chinese team to better the results of Athens, where People’s Republic of China won four Gold medals “The Chinese shooters showed to be very strong! – said the President smiling - I think they will win more then four Golds: they have the chance to win five, six, or maybe more competitions!”
