The three winners of each final, carried out between the world’s best athletes of 2005 in Munich this week, were eligible to participate at the Champion’s Trophy this afternoon. The mixed competition was shot in the standing position with an air rifle or air pistol and consisted of only one final round. After four shots the order of the shooters was decided and shot by shot one athlete after another had to leave the competition. The two remaining shooters of the rifle and pistol Champion’s Trophy had three shots and the sum decided the winner. The Winner of the Rifle Champion’s Trophy was Tatiana Goldobina, the Silver medallist of the World Cup Final three Positions event. She outdid Alin George Moldoveanu from Romania, Silver medallist of the 10m Air Rifle event. The following Pistol Championships ended in a match between Mikhail Nestruev from Russia, winner of the 10m Air Pistol final, and his compatriot Vladimir Isakov, Bronze medallist of the 50m Pistol event. Mikhail Nestruev decided the Trophy in his favour and could take home the prize money.
