As part of this initiative, the Czech Shooting Federation has secured Czech Television (Česká televize) as the broadcaster for the 2026 ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun in Doha, Qatar, providing Czech audiences with an opportunity to follow the world’s leading shooting sport athletes at one of the season’s major events.
The agreement reflects the ISSF’s commitment to supporting National Federations in developing television partnerships and extending the reach of ISSF competitions beyond their host countries.
Bringing the World Championships to Czech audiences
The Czech Republic has a strong tradition in international shooting sport, with athletes competing at the highest level across Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun disciplines.
By securing broadcast coverage of the World Championships in Doha, the Czech Shooting Federation is helping bring the sport closer to fans at home and giving audiences more opportunities to follow Czech athletes on the international stage.
The cooperation also supports the ISSF’s wider vision of building an international audience for shooting sport through collaboration with National Federations and broadcasters in key markets.
Following recent initiatives in China and Korea, the agreement with Czech Television represents another example of how cooperation at national level can extend the visibility of ISSF competitions and engage new audiences.
“Shooting is among our most successful Olympic sports, and as a public service, free-to-air broadcaster, we are proud to bring live finals to Czech viewers, honoring a rich tradition and giving fans the opportunity to support our top athletes” said Michal Dusik, Head of Sports, Czech Television.
ISSF President Luciano Rossi welcomed the agreement, saying:
“We are pleased to see the Czech Shooting Federation working to bring the World Championships to audiences in the Czech Republic. Cooperation with our National Federations is essential to expanding the visibility of shooting sport and ensuring that fans can follow our major competitions, wherever they take place.”
World Championships Doha
The 2026 ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun will take place in Doha from 1 to 14 November, bringing together the world’s leading athletes across the three disciplines.
The Championships will also mark the start of the LA28 Olympic qualification process, with 36 Olympic quota places available across the 12 individual Olympic events.
The agreement with Czech Television is another step in the ISSF’s efforts to work with National Federations to extend the reach of its competitions beyond the host country.
