Australia’s James Willett and Catherine Skinner produced a sensational performance to win the Trap Mixed Team title at the ISSF World Cup Shotgun Lonato 2026, establishing a new World Record of 37 hits in Sunday’s final.

The Australian duo led the competition from the opening stages and maintained their consistency throughout the elimination final, finishing with a record-breaking total of 37. Olympic champion Skinner contributed 20 hits, while Willett added 17, as the pair delivered one of the standout performances of the week in Lonato.


Great Britain’s Nathan Hales and Ellie Seward secured the silver medal with 35 hits after another impressive display. Hales once again demonstrated his exceptional form, scoring 20 hits, while Seward added 15 as the British pair remained Australia’s closest challengers throughout the final.


The bronze medal went to Yavuz Ilnam and Safiye Temizdemir of Türkiye, who finished with 25 hits. Ilnam contributed 14, while Temizdemir added 11, earning Türkiye a place on the podium after a composed performance.


Yang Kun-Pi and Liu Wan-Yu of Chinese Taipei concluded the final in fourth place with 16 hits, rounding off a highly competitive contest featuring four of the world’s strongest mixed teams.

Australia’s World Record performance brought the finals programme at the ISSF World Cup Shotgun Lonato 2026 to a spectacular conclusion. The result marked another record-breaking moment during the competition, which witnessed outstanding performances across both the Skeet and Trap disciplines, and provided a fitting finale to an exceptional week of international shotgun shooting in Italy.
