ISSF Junior World Championship Suhl: Archetti delivers record-breaking performance to capture Trap Women Junior world title

Italy's Valentina Archetti produced a historic display to win the Trap Women Junior gold medal at the ISSF Junior World Championship Rifle / Pistol / Shotgun Suhl 2026, setting a new World Record Junior of 28 hits in the final.

The Italian athlete outperformed Kazakhstan's Eleonora Ibragimova, who took silver with 25 hits, while Kseniia Samofalova, competing as an Individual Neutral Athlete, secured the bronze medal.

Archetti entered the final as one of the leading contenders and delivered under pressure with an outstanding performance. Missing only two targets throughout the contest, the Italian shooter established a new Junior World Record of 28 hits, surpassing the previous benchmark and confirming her status among the brightest young talents in international shotgun shooting. The victory adds a junior world title to an already impressive season and reinforces Italy's tradition of excellence in trap shooting.
Silver medallist Eleonora Ibragimova continued Kazakhstan's strong showing in Suhl with another podium finish. The young athlete demonstrated remarkable consistency throughout the final, staying in contention for gold until the closing stages. Her silver medal follows a series of strong international performances and highlights the growing strength of Kazakhstan's junior shotgun programme.
The bronze medal went to Kseniia Samofalova, competing as an Individual Neutral Athlete. Samofalova remained composed throughout a demanding final and secured her place on the podium with 20 hits. The result marks one of the most significant achievements of her junior career and rewards a championship campaign characterised by consistency and determination.
Fourth place was claimed by Dara Chupina, who had qualified strongly and remained among the leaders before being eliminated with 16 hits. Chupina's performance, together with Samofalova's bronze, demonstrated the depth of talent among the Individual Neutral Athletes in the event.

France's Chloe Dutang finished fifth after another solid international performance. The French shooter has been a regular contender at junior level and once again showed her ability to compete with the world's best young trap athletes.
Italy placed a second athlete in the final through Maria Iovinella, who finished sixth. Her appearance alongside Archetti highlighted the depth of the Italian junior programme, which continues to produce world-class shotgun talent.

Taylor Dale of the United States placed seventh, while Bhavya Tripathi of India finished eighth. Both athletes gained valuable experience competing on the world championship stage and contributed to a highly competitive final featuring shooters from across Europe, Asia and North America.
TEAM RESULTS

The team competition provided further evidence of the high standard of the event. Kazakhstan secured the gold medal with a total of 337 targets, led by Ibragimova's qualification score of 115. Italy claimed silver with 335, thanks to the combined efforts of Archetti, Camilla Stella Piazza and Martina Montani, while the Individual Neutral Athlete team took bronze with 334. India narrowly missed the podium in fourth place, also posting 334 targets, underlining the exceptionally close battle for the team medals.

Archetti's record-breaking victory and Kazakhstan's team success added another memorable chapter to the ISSF Junior World Championship Suhl 2026, which continues to showcase the future stars of international shooting sport.
