Vincent Hancock, 16, from the United States of America is the new World Champion of Skeet Men.

System against ambition was the consideration before the final of the Skeet Men started. Ennio Falco, 37, an experienced long term athlete and Olympic Gold medalist of Atlanta 1996 and the newcomer Vincent Hancock who has made his surprising debut at this year’s first ISSF World Cup in Changwon by winning the Gold medal and the Quota place for this nation met again for the Championship title. After last weeks World Cup in Rome, which Ennio Falco decided in his favor by one single target everything was possible until the last target was shot. And again, that one single target, in this case benificial for Hancock, made the decision. Hancock started the final round with 123 targets, one target more than Falco and after both shooting a perfect final round, the score of 148 made Hancock the new World Champion. Falco, who has already won two World Champion Silver medals in Lima 1997 and Cairo 2001 placed second.
Double success in today’s final was pocketed by the US, after the faultless final of James Graves, 42, from the United States of America. The Olympic Bronze medal winner of Sydney 2000 made up for his one target less to Abdullah Alrashidi from Kuwait after the qualification round and met the three time world Champion Alrashidi in a shoot-off which Graves decided 26 to 25. By winning the thrid place Graves also won the Quota place for his nation for Beiing 2008.
