Today, 23 June, the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) joins the worldwide celebration of Olympic Day, an annual occasion that brings people together through sport, physical activity and the values of the Olympic Movement.

This year's celebrations come as the global sporting community welcomes a new era under International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry, who shared a special video message encouraging people around the world to get moving, stay active and embrace the values of excellence, friendship and respect that unite the Olympic Movement.

"Olympic Day is an opportunity to celebrate the values that unite us through sport. Pierre de Coubertin believed that sport could help build a better world by bringing people together in friendship, respect and mutual understanding. As we celebrate today with young people in Suhl, we are reminded that the Olympic Movement is not only about competition, but also about education, inclusion and inspiring future generations to strive for excellence both on and off the field of play.", ISSF President Luciano Rossi.

As part of Olympic Day, the ISSF is celebrating the power of sport to inspire and connect people of all ages and backgrounds.

Olympic Day serves as a reminder that sport extends far beyond competition. It is an opportunity to learn, connect with others and build stronger communities through shared experiences and common values.

The ISSF is proud to support the Olympic Movement and its mission to inspire future generations through sport.
