With less than 150 days remaining until the ISSF World Championship Rifle / Pistol / Shotgun Doha 2026, the Organising Committee has unveiled the medals that will be awarded to the world's best shooting sport athletes during the competition, which takes place from 1 to 14 November in Doha, Qatar.

The medal design draws inspiration from the unique landscape and identity of Qatar. The front features the official Doha 2026 emblem, showcasing the country's iconic desert dunes beneath a star-filled sky, together with the event name. The reverse incorporates a stylised shooting target design using the ISSF's distinctive colours, symbolising precision, excellence and the global nature of the sport.

Presented on a blue ribbon, the medals combine traditional elements of Qatari heritage with modern sporting symbolism. The warm metallic finish and desert-inspired imagery reflect the environment that has shaped Qatar's culture for generations, while the target motif celebrates the athletes who will compete for world titles in rifle, pistol and shotgun disciplines.

The unveiling of the medals marks another milestone in the preparations for the ISSF World Championship Doha 2026. The event will not only crown new world champions but will also represent the first qualification opportunity for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, with the first Olympic quota places of the cycle set to be awarded in the Qatari capital.

Doha has a long-standing history of hosting major international shooting sport events and is preparing to welcome the world's leading athletes, coaches, officials and Member Federations for one of the most important competitions of the Olympic cycle.

As anticipation continues to build, the newly revealed medals provide athletes with a first glimpse of the prizes that will await the champions of Doha 2026 — and a powerful symbol of the journey towards both world and Olympic success.
