The IOC announced the launch of the pre-Games Athlete Education Programme for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, an important step in the lead-up to the first Youth Olympic Games to be held on African soil.

The programme is a key part of the Youth Olympic Games and aims to support young athletes and their entourage as they prepare for the event.

E-learning courses now available

Two dedicated e-learning courses are now available on the Athlete365 platform:

Mastering Your Sporting Journey – for Young athletes

Mastering Your Sporting Journey – for Athletes’ Entourage members

The courses are designed to be simple, interactive and adapted to the needs of young participants, offering practical guidance ahead of Dakar 2026.

Focus on key topics

The content is built around four main areas: staying mentally fit, safeguarding, preventing competition manipulation; and anti-doping (in collaboration with the World Anti-Doping Agency).

The courses are available in several languages, making them accessible to athletes and support teams from different backgrounds.

Preparing for Dakar 2026

With Dakar 2026 approaching, the Athlete Education Programme plays an important role in helping young athletes better understand the responsibilities that come with competing at an international level.

The ISSF encourages all participants to make use of these resources as part of their preparation for the Games.
