De Souza Ferreira Equals World Record to claim Trap Men gold at ISSF World Cup Shotgun Tangier 2026

The Trap Men Final at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup Shotgun in Tangier, Morocco took place today, delivering another high-level contest under the new ISSF final format.

Peru’s Alessandro De Souza Ferreira secured the gold medal, equalling the World Record with a score of 27, in a standout performance that confirmed his place among the discipline’s rising stars.


 

Competing in the new ISSF final format with eight athletes, De Souza Ferreira delivered an exceptional and consistent performance throughout the elimination stages.

His winning score of 27 matches the current World Record, marking not only a historic result but also his first-ever medal at an ISSF World Cup, achieved in the most impressive fashion.


Morocco’s Driss Haffari claimed the silver medal with a score of 25, delivering a strong and composed performance in front of the home crowd in Tangier.

This result also represents a major milestone, as it is Haffari’s first ISSF World Cup medal, making the achievement even more significant on home soil.


Guatemala’s Jean Pierre Brol Cardenas secured the bronze medal, adding another important result to his career.

The Olympic bronze medallist at the Paris 2024 Games, Brol Cardenas demonstrated his experience and consistency to reach the podium once again at the international level.
