Wins for Germany in mixed target sprint events conclude thrilling 2025 ISSF World Championship in Cairo

Germany scored a one-two in the mixed pair and took victory in the mixed team event in target sprint, ending a great two weeks of action at the 2025 ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol in Cairo, Egypt.


Mixed Pair Target Sprint

Kerstin Veronika Schmidt and individual men's champion Jacob Hoffman took gold in the mixed pair event, combining for a time of 7min 14.9sec in the race. They would just hold off their compatriots and Jacob's brother, who finished in 7:19.0. The silver medals would go to Edith Buschsieweke and Julius Hoffman. Egypt's two teams contested for the final spot on the podium - and the bronze would go to Wafaa Hamed and Ahmed Attia close behind the Germans in 7:32.6. Sama Ahmed Afifi and Aly Mousa would finish fourth.

In the junior event, Alena Weinmann and Lukas Volker Buerki were the clear victors in a time of 7:19.8. Egypt's Dalia Sobh and Omar Salem were able to hold off Switzerland and a team of their compatriots for the silver in 8:00.2. Switzerland's Tessa Dietrich and Patrick Gal were third in 8:11.2, followed by the Egyptians Marwa Abdellatif and Alieldin Ali in fourth.
Mixed Team Target Sprint

Consisting of three athletes - one female and two males - the winning team were Jana Landwehr, and Jacob and Julius Hoffman, who cruised to victory in a time of 12:51.8. Egypt would take the silver and bronze medals. Coming in second were Wafaa Hamed, Ahmed Zyada and Ahmed Attia in 13:29.0, followed by Sama Ahmed Afifi, Kasem Ebied and Ahmed Dorgham in 14:18.0.

In the junior event, Alena Weinmann, Lukas Volker Buerki and Moritz Kellner finished in a time of 13:10.6 to win the gold medal. Tessa Dietrich, Patrick Gal and Nils Reusser of Switzerland finished second in a time of 13:41.9, with the bronze going to Marwa Abdellatif, Seif Seliman and Abdalla Ahmed from Egypt in 14:58.5.
