The ISSF Marketing Unit has held its first training session with stakeholders involved in future ISSF competitions, in a bid to streamline their branding on-site.

Head of Marketing, Andrea Cuneo, led the session and was assisted by Sponsorship Areas Manager, Mirella Seletto and Communications Relations Manager, Maddalena Ercolani.

They published a marketing guide detailing deadlines and requirements from the ISSF, including the creative freedom of Local Organising Committees and where compliance was needed. Local Organising Committees will also be required to submit, prior to the event, a list of potential local sponsors for ISSF approval and coordination with international partners.

Information was also provided regarding sponsor visibility at events and on broadcasts, as well as the approval process and the prioritisation of ISSF partners. Banner specifications were also highlighted, which shows where these sponsors would feature in areas such as the podium, competition area, mixed zone and audience board. It also allows local organisers to provide a detailed guide to their potential local partners, with improved clarity for all stakeholders.

Bibs and accreditation cards were discussed, as was promotional and advertising material via logos, posters and programmes. Marketing guidelines were also stressed in hospitality areas which include those for VIPs, merchandising and food and beverage suppliers.

Particular emphasis was placed on the timelines that local committees will need to follow.

This will ensure that all stakeholders are well-prepared for future events, while allowing improved coordination between the ISSF and the Local Organising Committee.
