The Qatar Shooting & Archery Association will organise the 2026 ISSF World Shooting Championships and the 2025 ISSF World Cup Final, following approval by the ISSF Executive Committee.
Both of these competitions will encompass rifle, pistol and shotgun events, with dates to be confirmed.
It will mark the first time Qatar has hosted the ISSF World Shooting Championships and the fourth time Qatar has hosted an ISSF World Cup leg.
Doha first held the ISSF World Cup Final in shotgun as part of the 2001 season, before hosting the ISSF World Cup Final again for all three disciplines in 2023, following another shotgun leg earlier that season.
The ISSF Executive Committee also approved a changing of dates and location for the ISSF World Cup Shotgun set to take place in 2026 in Morocco.
Instead of Rabat, the event will be held in Tangier from 23 March to 2 April 2026.
The Egyptian Shooting Federation will also host a leg of the 2026 ISSF Junior World Cup in Cairo, Egypt from 19 to 30 April 2026.

In support of those organising our 2025 and 2026 events, the ISSF will provide a 50 per cent refund to all Organising Committees' expenses in relation to TV production and event promotion, up to a maximum of EUR 20,000 per year, per Organising Committee. This applies to ISSF Grand Prix events, but with a maximum cap of EUR 10,000.
Following recommendation from the International Olympic Committee, Russian and Belarusian athletes under the age of 21 will not be investigated prior to granting them Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN) status. As a result, 21 athletes have been granted AIN clearance.
Financial relief has been proposed for new athletes in the target sprint discipline, with a bid to aid development. This includes cancelling the cost to be issued an athlete's ISSF ID, for all new target sprint athletes in 2025 and 2026. It will also support covering entry fees for all athletes in target sprint disciplines for the 2025 ISSF World Championships.
Other order of business saw technical delegates approved for 2026, the jury list for the ISSF Junior World Cup in New Delhi; as well as additional jury members appointed for moving target and target sprint events at the ISSF World Championships in Cairo, following these disciplines being added to the schedule.
