Following analysis of data collected at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, shooting sport received optimistic news in the post-Games feedback report.

It was a successful summer at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on the range for shooting sport, and it has confirmed to be off the range too, following a feedback report from the International Olympic Committee.

Data was collected by the IOC, Publicis Sport & Entertainment and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Organising Committee in 14 areas, providing valuable commentary for each of the 32 International Federations whose sports were on the Olympic Programme last year.

From those 14 indicators, the ISSF scored above average in eight of those. Five of these indicators saw the ISSF score inside the top third of all IFs, while 13 of these met the standard of the middle third.

Optimism is high, with shooting scoring high in digital viewership, social media conversations, internet searches and favourability amongst the general public, especially among young people.

This report indicates that shooting sport is in a very positive position heading towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games and momentum is building as the ISSF seek inclusion at the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.

Most importantly, shooting sport is attracting high viewership in major markets such as India, China, Pakistan, Republic of Korea and Indonesia in Asia; while attracting great interest from Brazil, Mexico and the United States in the Americas; as well as the European powerhouses such as hosts France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom and Turkiye.

These represent a diverse range of major markets globally - highlighting the universal appeal of shooting sport.

The ISSF is delighted with these findings, as we continue to strive in this next Olympic cycle.
