The coolest shooter in the world continues to make headlines as Kim Yeji has been named in the BBC's 100 Women of 2024.
On a list made up of activists, scientists, photographers, actresses, musicians and seven other sportspeople, Kim was chosen for her "charisma and sporting achievements" after a great season 2024 shooting season.
She became a viral sensation during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games when footage resurfaced from the ISSF World Cup in Baku this year where she scored a world record in the women's 25m pistol final, all while looking like a nonchalant assassin.
It started a series of memes featuring shooting sport athletes including Yusuf Dikec and Sheng Lihao, making our sport one of the most talked about at the Olympic Games.
Kim also won silver in the women's 10m air pistol at the Games.
She has also been praised for her support for her family, opting to take a break from the sport to spend time with her family, particularly her young daughter.
"Through sports, we demonstrate resilience, teamwork, and determination - values that, in my opinion, extend far beyond the playing field to inspire broader societal change," read Kim's quote in the BBC article.
Other sportspeople included on the list were wrestler Vinesh Phogat, runners Joan Chelimo Melly and Allyson Felix, archer Tracy Otto, table tennis player Zhiying Zen, gymnast Rebeca Andrade and taekwondo player Zakia Khudadadi.
