The event opened with an inspiring speech by Giovanni Malagò, President of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), International Olympic Committee (IOC) member, and President of the Organising Committee of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games. Malagò reaffirmed his deep respect for the values of shooting sport and emphasized its indispensable place in the Olympic programme.
Attendees were also treated to messages from prominent figures in the Olympic movement, including IOC President Thomas Bach, IOC Sports Director Kit McConnell, and former Olympic shooter and current LA28 Sports Director, Niccolò Campriani. Their support underscored the global importance and growing influence of shooting sport.
Following these addresses, the Assembly turned its focus to significant Constitutional changes, which were approved through member voting. These amendments reflect ISSF’s ongoing commitment to governance reform and operational excellence.
ISSF Secretary General and President delivered speeches highlighting the Federation's successes over the past year. They proudly pointed to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as the pinnacle of achievement, where shooting sport captured global attention. Two athletes went viral online, helping to break all records of audience reach and engagement, solidifying shooting's position as one of the Games’ standout sports.
The Secretary General also celebrated the success of the ISSF House in Châteauroux, a hub for the international shooting community during the Games. Reflecting on ISSF’s financial growth, he revealed an impressive 600% increase in revenue for 2024 alone and an ambitious target of €3.5 million for the 2024–2028 cycle.
The ISSF President took the opportunity to revisit the four pillars of his administration—Stakeholder Engagement, Integrity and Sustainability, Athlete-First Approach, and Operational Transformation—noting significant progress in each area.
As the ISSF looks ahead, the General Assembly serves as a reminder of the Federation’s unwavering commitment to promoting shooting sport, fostering inclusivity, and achieving operational excellence on the global stage.
The General Assembly concluded with presentations from the ISSF Marketing and Communications Units, as well as the ISSF Academy. Each unit shared highlights of their progress throughout the year and unveiled ambitious plans for 2025 and 2026, setting a dynamic vision for the Federation’s continued growth and success.
