Milano Cortina 2026 President Malago visits Lonato facility

Giovanni Malago, the President of the Italian National Olympic Committee and the President of the Milano Cortina 2026 Organising Committee, visited the facility to test its latest technology.

The President of the Italian National Olympic Committee and the President of the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, Giovanni Malago, was the guest of honour at Trap Concaverde in Lonato del Garda, where he studied the new technological advances in the sport.

Malago, who is also an International Olympic Committee member, was joined at the venue by the President of Trap Concaverde, Ivan Carella and regional delegate of FITAV Lombardia, Daniele Angelo Ghelfi.

There, he tested the newest technology including the new Travision system, which is currently being tested by the ISSF. 

During his visit, there was also time for Malago to experience virtual reality, with a headset which allows users to experiment with the technical movements of shooting sport.

The next edition of the Winter Olympic Games are to be held across northern Italy, including a cluster in the nearby city of Milan.

Recently, Travision's technology was trialled at a test event in Lonato, for future ISSF events.

Future considerations include VAR innovations and an improved digital scoreboard.
