In partnership with the International Testing Agency, young athletes were taught how best to remain committed to clean sport, during the ISSF Junior World Championships.

For the first time in the history of the ISSF Junior World Championships, an in-person clean sport education programme has been held during the competition, as part of the International Shooting Sport Federation's cooperation with the International Testing Agency.

More than 500 athletes competed at the latest edition of the competition, which concluded on Sunday (6 October) in Lima, Peru.

This programme provided athletes and their support personnel with how anti-doping practices take place, but through interactive activities such as games, clean sport discussion and real-life simulations.

Leading the initiative was Thais Cevada, ITA Education Ambassador, who hosted the education booth over four days. Cassio Rippel, Chairman of the ISSF Athletes' Committee was also present, strongly backing methods to prevent doping.

ISSF President Luciano Rossi said: "This is the perfect opportunity for young athletes to learn how to remain committed to clean sport, but also the importance of doing so.

"The ISSF's partnership with the ITA continues to develop positively and these education programmes for our future stars will ensure shooting remains a fair sport for all."

The ITA is an international organisation that conducts independent anti-doping for International Federations and major events organisers. Its clients include the ISSF.
