A Landmark Year in International Shooting Sports
The 2024 competition season has been nothing short of remarkable, featuring elite performances across a series of premier international events. These included the ISSF Grand Prix, six ISSF World Cups, two Olympic Qualification Championships in Doha, Qatar (Shotgun) and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Rifle/Pistol), and seven Continental Championships. Most notably, this year’s calendar culminated in the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris, where the world’s best athletes showcased their talent on the global stage.
The ISSF Shooter of the Year award recognizes not only competitive success but also exemplary sportsmanship, commitment, and character. Previous recipients of the title, which has been awarded since 1984, have set a high standard for professionalism and leadership within the shooting sports community.
Votes will be tallied through a points-based system, and the winners will be awarded during the ISSF World Cup Final R/P/SH in New Delhi, India—the final event of the competitive season.The awards serve as a testament to their skill, dedication, and contributions to the international shooting community.
