A Virtual Reality (VR) experience which replicates competing in Olympic shooting sports will be on offer to all guests at ISSF House, the hospitality hub close to the Paris 2024 range in Chateauroux.

Created by the start-up Breaking Studio, renowned for its immersive VR experiences and games, the installation offers all the ambient sounds and visuals of the Olympic competition happening in real life just a few hundred metres away.

In addition, the lobby of the VR experience replicates the elegant lobby of one of the most famous shooting range in the World.

The 3D artists of Breaking Studio have produced precise and authentic recreations of every rifle, pistol, and shotgun event represented at the Olympic Games.

The virtual firearms employed are designed to give users the same tactile feedback and handling experience as their real-life counterparts, whether it be in rapid-fire pistol or shotgun events.

They will replicate the weight, balance, and intricacies of each weapon, making the VR session as realistic as possible.

ISSF President Luciano Rossi said: “We are delighted we can allow people to experience the thrill and precision of Olympic shooting sports like never before.”

“We are dedicated to bridging the gap between reality and virtual experiences in a way that does not detract from the traditional sport but adds to its value by introducing more people to shooting sport in a modern and fun way.

“The ISSF Experience will transport you to the heart of Olympic shooting sports and provide an authentic and engaging environment that mirrors the excitement and challenges faced by top athletes.”

The ISSF Experience, envisaged as being a journey into the world of Olympic shooting sports, is accessible to all skill levels and adaptable to newcomers or seasoned competitors.

The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) is the governing body of Olympic shooting events but also regulated several non-Olympic shooting sport events.

The federation’s activities include regulation of the sport, managing Olympic qualification events and quota places, as well as organizing international competitions such as the ISSF World Cup series and ISSF World Championships. ISSF has 163 member federations from 149 countries or territories around the world. Founded in 1907, the ISSF has its HQ in Munich Germany. For more information go to www.issf-sports.org
