ISSF Road to Paris 2024 episode 4 looks at the trap men’s event, an Olympic contest since 1900

The fourth episode of the ISSF Road to Paris 2024 series, released today on the ISSF YouTube platform, explores the history of the men’s trap.

Australian Olympic gold medallists Russell Mark and Michael Diamond share their experiences of competing in the event.

This event was first contested at Olympics during the 1900 Paris Games and remains one of the key elements of the sport.

Until 1992 the Olympic trap event was open to both men and women. In 1996, it was open to men only, and from 2000 men and women have had separate competitions

The ISSF TV team also speaks to one of Great Britain’s brightest talents, Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Matthew Coward-Holley, who discusses his hopes and aspirations for the Paris 2024 Games.

This 20-part ISSF documentary countdown to the Olympics and Paralympics, hosted by Martina Lučić and Jamie Stangroom, will take the sport’s followers all the way through to the Games Opening Ceremony on July 26.

En route it is revisiting some of the biggest Olympic moments and feature exclusive interviews with some of shooting sport’s top names.
