Georgia’s Mariami Prodiashvili earned her fourth junior medal in three days at the European Championships 10m rifle and pistol in Gyor, Hungary as she and her team-mates Salome Prodiashvili and Mariam Abramishvili took silver in the air pistol trio women junior final.
Prodiashvili had previously won 10m air pistol mixed team gold with Giorgi Mumladze and then helped Georgia to team gold in the women’s 10m air pistol before winning the individual title in a European junior record of 242.2 points.
Gold went to the German trio of Celina Becker, Johanna Blenck and Lydia Vetter by a 16-14 margin.
The Azerbaijan team of Leyli Aliyeva, Sofiya Barkhalova and Zeynab Sultanova earned victory bo the same score in their bronze medal match with Ukraine, represented by Yuliia Didenko, Olha Lepska and Anastasiia Marchenko.
Ukraine had earlier secured gold in the air pistol trio men junior event as their trio of Maksym Himon, Ivan Martynov and Timur Pidhornyi earned a 17-13 win over Romania’s Levente Bucsias, Constantin-Daniel Feraru and Luca Joldea.
Norway won the bronze-medal match 17-7 against Bulgaria.
In the previous day’s air rifle trio events, the men’s junior gold went to the German team of Florian Beer, Justus Ott and Nils Palberg, 16-6 winners over Norway, represented by Isak Gurrik, Jens Oestli and Even Throndsen.
Austria claimed bronze with a 16-6 win over Sweden.
Germany also claimed the women’s junior title in the trio, thanks to Katrin Grabowski, Theresa Schnell and Nele Stark, who beat the Polish team of Maja Gawenda, Julia Mikolowska and Dominika Skarupska 16-8.
The Czech Republic claimed bronze with a 16-10 win over Austria.
Tomorrow will see the first senior finals taking place in Gyor with the 10m air rifle mixed team event being followed by the women’s and men’s 10m air pistol.
