As President of the International Shooting Sport Federation it gives me great pleasure to wish all athletes and participants the best of luck during the Asian Shotgun Championship that opens tomorrow in Kuwait City.

Eight coveted quota places for the Paris 2024 Games are on offer in this long-awaited Asia Olympic qualifier for shotgun events in which the first finals start on Monday (January 15) and conclude on Sunday week (January 21).

The Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) has revealed that 206 athletes will participate in the Championship competing for a total of 14 medals in skeet and trap shooting and 110 officials will be joining from 25 nations.

This event, based at the world-class facility in Kuwait City will represent a further marvellous promotion of our sport across the region.

I would like to express sincere thanks to the organisers of this event under the Asian Shooting Confederation banner.

We are always grateful for the efforts and commitment of our dear friends in Kuwait.

Thanks also to all the technical delegates and volunteers, who will be working hard to make sure that all the athletes are able to compete at their best.

 Good luck to all!

Luciano Rossi
