As President of the International Shooting Sport Federation it gives me great pleasure to wish all athletes and participants the best of luck during the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship opening today in Jakarta.
Olympic dreams will be realised for successful shooters in the Indonesian capital over the next seven days in a competition that incorporates the Asia Olympic Qualification R&P event.
A total of 16 quota places for the Paris 2024 Games are on offer in the Olympic events that begin on Monday (January 8) and finish on Saturday week (January 13).
,The Championships- which will include the full range of non-Olympic events and which conclude on Wednesday week (January 17) – will involve a total of 385 athletes from 26 nations.
This event, based at the world-class Senayan Shooting Range, will represent a further marvellous promotion of our sport across the region.
I would like to express sincere thanks to the organisers of this event under the Asian Shooting Confederation banner.
Thanks also to all the technical delegates and volunteers, who will be working hard to make sure that all the athletes are able to compete at their best.
Good luck to all!
