Korean Gunhyeok Lee wins the World Championship in Cairo

Medals in 4 events and 4 Quota places to Paris-2024 were allocated today at the ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol in Cairo, Egypt.

The world champion's title in 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men won Gunhyeok LEE from Republic of Korea. The 23-year-old athlete won his first medal among Seniors. Silver was won by the reigning European champion Clement BESSAGUET from France, for whom this award was the first World Championship medal. Ghulam Mustafa BASHIR from Pakistan won Bronze and the first medal of the ISSF competition. Gunhyeok LEE and Ghulam Mustafa BASHIR won Quotas to Paris-2024, Clement BESSAGUET has already won it earlier at the European Championship. Two more Quota places took Christian REITZ from Germany and Zhiming LU from People's Republic of China.

 

In 25m Pistol Team Women the best result was shown by Chinese Yan CHEN, Rui LIU and Jiaruixuan XIAO. In the Gold Medal Match they were more accurate than Manu BHAKER, Rhythm SANGWAN and Abhidnya Ashok PATIL from India who took Silver. Bronze won Doreen VENNEKAMP, Monika KARSCH and Michelle SKERIES from Germany.

 

Henrik LARSEN, Simon CLAUSSEN and Jon-Hermann HEGG from Norway won Gold in 50m Rifle 3 Positions Team Men Final. Second place took Michael DHALLUIN, Michael DHALLUIN and Brian BAUDOUIN from France, Bronze was won by Indians Aishwary Pratap Singh TOMAR, Swapnil KUSALE and Niraj KUMAR.

 

Among women in this event won Jolyn BEER, Lisa MUELLER and Anna JANSSEN from Germany. Sarina HITZ, Franziska STARK and Nina CHRISTEN from Switzerland, and Qiongyue ZHANG, Mengyao SHI and Wanru MIAO from People's Republic of China came in second and third, respectively.

 

The ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol in Cairo will continue until October 28th.
