Two Golds for Russia and Italy

On the second competition day of the World Cup Rifle / Pistol / Shotgun in Osijek, Croatia, athletes competed for medals in 6 events: Team events in Pistol and Rifle and in Skeet.

The first medals on this day were distributed by Men in the 10m Air Rifle Team Men where 13 teams took part. The Gold was won by the team from the Russian Federation represented by Vladimir MASLENNIKOV, Sergey KAMENSKIY and Alexander DRYAGIN. In the struggle for the highest award they were more accurate than Zalan PEKLER, Soma Richard HAMMERL and Istvan PENI from Hungary. Third place went to Milenko SEBIC, Milutin STEFANOVIC and Lazar KOVACEVIC from Serbia.

The 10m Air Rifle Team Women was won by Fatemeh KARAMZADEH, Armina SADEGHIAN and Najmeh KHEDMATI from the Islamic Republic of Iran. The second place was taken by Yulia KARIMOVA, Daria BOLDINOVA and Anastasiia GALASHINA from the Russian Federation, and the third - by Eszter MESZAROS, Eszter DENES and Lea HORVATH from Hungary. Totally 17 teams participated in the event.

In another Team event - 10m Air Pistol Team Men - Italians Paolo MONNA, Alessio TORRACCHI and Federico Nilo MALDINI were the best. Damir MIKEC, Dimitrije GRGIC and PETROV Dusko from Serbia took second place, Sajad POORHOSSEINI LAFMEJANI, Javad FOROUGHI and Vahid GOLKHANDAN from the Islamic Republic of Iran - third.

Among Women in this event, the first place was taken by athletes from Bulgaria Miroslava MINCHEVA, Antoaneta KOSTADINOVA and Maria GROZDEVA who were more accurate in the medal match than Carina WIMMER, Sandra REITZ and Andrea Katharina HECKNER from Germany. Yashaswini Singh DESWAL, Manu BHAKER and Rahi SARNOBAT from India won Bronze.

In Skeet Women, Russian Zilia BATYRSHINA won her first World Cup Gold, confidently surpassing Francisca CROVETTO CHADID from Chili and Victoria LARSSON from Sweden, who took second and third places respectively. With her victory Zilya brought Russia to the first place in the current Medal Standings.

The result of the Men's Final was decided by a shoot-off where more precisely was Tammaro CASSANDRO from Italy. Federico GIL from Argentina won Silver, and Nicolas VASILIOU from Cyprus won the Bronze.

Competitions will continue tomorrow with two Team events and two Mixed Team events.
