Andreas Makri from Cyprus won the Trap Men's final at the 2019 ISSF World Cup in Changwon. He was the second highest ranked shooter after qualification with a score of 123 targets from 125. In the final he hit 45 out of 50 targets, the same score as the British shooter Matthew Coward-Holley. A tense shoot-off for the Gold medal ensued. It took 6 shots to break the tie, with the Cypriot shooter emerging as the winner. It is the first Gold medal for Andreas Makri in an ISSF World Cup competition. In fact it is his first ever medal of any colour at a major ISSF event. Great Britain's Matthew Coward-Howley was the top ranked shooter in qualification with a score of 124 from 125. Both Makri and Coward-Holley won Olympic quotas for Tokyo 2020.
Bronze medal was won by Australian James Willett who in qualification scored 122 from 125 targets. In the final he hit 37 out of 50. Earlier this year Willett won the World Cup Trap Men competition in Acapulco.
The ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Changwon (KOR) will continue tomorrow with the Trap Mixed Team event.
