Weiyun Deng from the People’s Republic of China won the Trap Women's final at the 2019 ISSF World Cup in Changwon. It is the first World Cup Gold medal for Weiyun in competition of this level. In qualification she hit 118 targets from 125 and in the final she hit 46 out of 50.
Silver medal was won by another Chinese shooter Xiaojing Wang, who ended up just one target behind, hitting 45 out 50 targets in the final. She was the highest ranked shooter in qualification with a score of 121 targets out of 125.
American Ashley Carrol won the bronze medal. She was the 2nd highest ranked shooter after qualification with a score of 119 targets. In the final she hit 36 targets out of 40 and won a Tokyo 2020 Olympic quota.
The second Olympic quota went to Melanie Couzy from France who finished the competition in 6th position.
The ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Changwon (KOR) will continue tomorrow with the 2nd day of Trap Men Qualification and the Final.
