The competition schedule of the 52nd ISSF World Championship in all Shooting events in Changwon (KOR) has been published today.

The Championship will start on the 31st of August, the official arrival day for the delegations, and will take place at the Changwon International Shooting Center, that was reconstructed for the event. The Opening Ceremony will be held on the 1st of September, while the first medal events will take place on the 2nd of September. 18 men’s and 11 women’s individual and team events, as well as 15 men junior’s and 9 women junior’s individual and team events will be contested until the 15th of September.
1804 athletes from 90 countries, for a total of 3422 starts (including double starters) will participate in the Championship, that takes place once every four years (the last being held in Granada, Spain, in 2014).
This World Championship also marks the official start of the qualification path for Tokyo 2020 for Shooting sport. 60 Olympic quota places will be distributed in 15 Olympic events, in the disciplines of Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun shooting. For the first time in the history of the sport, quota places will be allocated also in the three new mixed team competitions: the 10m Air Rifle, the 10m Air Pistol and the Trap Mixed Team events, that have recently been approved for inclusion in the 2020 Olympic program, fostering gender equality in Shooting sport.
As usual, the latest updates to the competition schedule will be communicated at the Technical Meeting to be held on the 1st of September at the Shooting Range in Changwon.
