It started on Wednesday, May 30th in Thun (SUI), and it will go on until June 5th: the 50th edition of the CISM Shooting World Championship officially started with the opening ceremony held in the Rathausplatz, at the presence of many important guests — like Mr. Bruno Wolfensberger, President of the CISM Shooting Sport Committee and Mr, Raphael Lanz, Mayor of Thun — and citizens of the Swiss city.
The championship, organized by the International Council of Military Sports, will welcome more than 350 athletes, representing 48 countries and competing in 25m, 50m and 300m shooting events.
At the opening ceremony, the International Shooting Sport Federation was represented by Mr. Vladimir Lisin, Vice President of the ISSF and President of the ESC.
