Twelve Buenos Aires 2018 quota places awarded at the European Championship in Gyor

The slots were allocated in four events: men’s and women’s 10m Air Rifle, and men’s and women’s 10m Air Pistol. The third edition of the Youth Olympic Games will take place in Buenos Aires (ARG) next October.

Twelve more quotas for the upcoming Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games were awarded at the European Championship 10m in Gyor (HUN). The competition took place at the Audi Arena from February 16th to February 26th.

 

Four separate events were conducted with the specific purpose of allocating the YOG slots: a total of 176 athletes competed in these four events, representing 36 NOCs.

 

Here’s the detailed list of the athletes and countries who secured the quotas:

 

10m Air Rifle Men

Plamen Emilov of Bulgaria

Hayk Babayan of Armenia

 

10m Air Pistol Men

Jason Solari of Switzerland

Dmytro Honta of Ukraine

Pavel Schejbal of the Czech Republic

 

10m Air Rifle Women

Anastasiia Dereviagina of the Russian Federation

Sofia Benetti of Italy

Wiktoria Zuzanna Bober of Poland

 

10m Air Pistol Women

Gloria Fernandez of Spain

Vanessa Seeger of Germany

Nino Khutsiberidze of Georgia

 

Germany is the only country who received two quota places; while Armenia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy, Poland, Spain, Russian Federation, Switzerland and Ukraine all claimed one.

 

More slots for Buenos Aires 2018 will be delivered at the ISSF World Cup Stage 3, taking place in Fort Benning (USA) from the 7th to the 15th of May.

 

The Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games will take place in the Argentinian capital city from the 6th to the 18th of October.
