ISSF Secretary General Franz Schreiber welcomed the participants in behalf of ISSF and of ISSF President Olegario Vazquez Raña, today.

“The Workshop is at its 15th edition. Through the years, it became a very important tool to prepare our championship and to share best practices.”

“We hope that you will bring back home new ideas on how to conduct a successful competition. Organizational matters, communications and marketing activities, sustainability projects, field of play look and feel… we are going to hear presentations on several important topics throughout these two days. Our aim is to support our Organizing Committees, and to keep on improving the quality of our championships from year to year.”

“We are happy that Organizers from 2017, 2018 and 2019 ISSF Championships are participating and sharing their experiences. The first workshop took place in 2003, and 14 years later we have 42 representatives from 41 Championship Organizers, and a total of over 90 participants.”

“We are all here to work together, to make our sport’s championships better for our athletes and for all our stakeholders, as our championships program keeps on evolving with the introduction of new events and new competitions.”

During the workshop, delegates will receive several presentations in the fields of sustainability and environmental initiatives; scheduling; victory ceremonies organization; jury policies, duties and responsibility; ISSF TV and communications programs; venue planning; equipment control; qualification procedures; anti-doping activities.

Furthermore, ISSF officials and experts will update Organizers on rules and conduction procedures of the new Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun Mixed Team events that were recently approved by ISSF and the IOC for introduction in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic’s Program.
