The ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Larnaka, Cyprus, continues with the men’s Skeet event.
The athletes went through the first qualification day today (April the 30th), shooting two series for a total of 50 out of 125 qualification targets. The competition will proceed tomorrow, with three more qualification series followed by the elimination-style final.
At the end of day-1, seven athletes lead the pack with a perfect score of 50 out 50 targets. Among them, the home athlete Georgios Achilleos, the 2007 ISSF World Champion and a 14-time world cup medalist.
He is chased by Saif Bin Futtais of the United Arab Emirates, USA’s Christian Elliott, Argentina’s Federico Gill, Great Britain’s Ben William David Llewellin, Denmark’s Mikkel Petersen and Russia’s Alexander Zemlin, all with a score of 50 hits.
Day-2 will start tomorrow morning (May the 1st) at 8 AM, with three additional series to be shot.
The top-6 athletes will then advance to the final scheduled at 17.45 (UTC+3).
