The stage is set in Baku for the last ISSF World Cup of the season

The Azerbaijani capital city, host of the first edition of the European Games in 2015, is about to organize the sixth and conclusive stage of the 2016 ISSF World Cup Series, from the 20th to the 29th of June.

Baku (AZE), the host city of the 2015 European Games, is about to welcome the sixth and last stage of the 2016 ISSF World Cup Series. The first held in the capital city of Azerbaijan.

 

From June 20th to June 29th 640 athletes will battle for the last 15 World Cup Gold medals of the season, representing 80 nations and piling up 912 starts in the 15 Olympic Shooting events.

 

The fifteen final matches will take place according to the following schedule:

 

Wednesday, June 22nd:

Trap Women at 5:30 PM (UTC+4)

 

Thursday, June 23rd:

10m Air Pistol Women at 11:00 AM

10m Air Rifle Men at 12:30 PM

Trap Men at 3:00 PM

 

Friday, June 24th:

50m Pistol Men at 11:45 AM

10m Air Rifle Women at 2:45 PM

 

Saturday, June 25th:

10m Air Pistol Men at 11:30 AM

25m Pistol Women at 1:30 PM

Double Trap Men at 4:15 PM

 

Sunday, June 26th:

50m Rifle Prone Men at 11:00 AM

25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men at 2:00 PM

 

Monday, June 27th:

50m Rifle 3 Positions Women at 12:00 PM

Skeet Women at 5:45 PM

 

Tuesday, June 28th:

50m Rifle 3 Positions Men at 1:00 PM

Skeet Men at 3:45 PM

 

The first Gold medal to be assigned in Baku will be the Trap Women, on Wednesday 22nd at 5:30 PM; (UTC+4), followed on Thursday 23rd by the 10m Air Pistol Women at 11:00 AM, the 10m Air Rifle Men at 12:30 PM and the Trap Men at 3:00 PM.

 

The 2016 ISSF World Cup Series kicked off last March, in Bangkok (THA), with the first Rifle/Pistol stage of the season, followed by the first Shotgun one in Nicosia (CYP) and by the Olympic test event in Rio de Janeiro (BRA). The fourth and the fifth stages respectively  took place in Munich (GER) and San Marino (SMR).

 

The ISSF World Championship in Running Target events will take place in Suhl (GER) next month, from the 14th to the 23rd of July, while the peak of the season will be reached in August, when the Games of the XXXI Olympiad will take place in Rio de Janeiro.

 

The 15 Olympic Shooting events are scheduled to take place from August 6th to August 14th.
