Suhl ready to host the 2015 ISSF Junior Cup in two weeks

500 young shooters are looking forward to the first ISSF Junior Cup of the year, kicking-off in Suhl, Germany, in two weeks. Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun and mixed international team shooting events will be conducted there from the 25th of June through the 2nd of July.

Everything is ready for the 2015 ISSF Junior Cup, the competition dedicated to grassroots and junior athletes that will take place in Suhl, Germany, from the 25th of June through the 2nd of July 2015. About 500 athletes coming from more than 40 countries will compete in Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun and mixed events, with the first medals to be assigned on the 27th of June.

Suhl is a well-known shooting sport location, and the venue will host several international events in the years to come. In 2017, the first ISSF Junior World Championship will be held there, setting a new milestone for the International Shooting Sport Federation. In 2016, the ISSF Running Target World Championship will be conducted in Suhl as well, from the 15th through the 23rd of July.

“Suhl is a very important location for the German Shooting Sport Federation (DSB) and the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF)” stated Willi Grill, the ISSF Technical Director at a press conference in Suhl, presenting this year’s ISSF Junior Cup. “Looking at the numbers of this Junior Cup, with regard to quality and quantity, we are playing in the highest league.” added Mr. Grill.

During the upcoming ISSF Junior Cup, young athletes from all over the world will compete in 15 Olympic shooting disciplines in Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun events, as well as in 3 non-Olympic events and in the 2 Youth Olympic Games mixed international team shooting events.
