24 Rio 2016 Olympic Quota places, the qualification spots for the next Games, will be distributed during the competition.

The fifth leg of this year's ISSF World Cup Series kicked-off in Fort Benning, GA, USA, where the Rifle and Pistol world cup stage will be held from the 12th through the 18th of May.

This year's ISSF World Cup Series started-off at the beginning of March in Acapulco, Mexico where the first Shotgun shooting world cup stage was held, and then continued in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, with the second shotgun stage. April saw the first Rifle and Pistol shooting world cup, which was organized in Changwon, South Korea, and then the third Shotgun stage in Larnaca, Cyprus.

Over 600 athletes representing 76 nations arrived here in Fort Benning to participate in the 10 Olympic rifle and pistol events, trying to secure one of the 24 Rio 2016 Olympic Quota places up for grabs during the event. They will compete at the well known shooting range of Fort Benning, which has been expanded this year with the construction of a new finals' hall.

The first medals will be assigned tomorrow, 13th of May, at the 10m Air Rifle Men and at the 25m Pistol Women finals. The matches are scheduled to take place at 14.00 and 16.30 (Fort Benning time, GMT-4), and will be broadcasted live on the ISSF website at www.issf-sports.org
