First 2015 ISSF World Cup Stage opened in Acapulco (MEX)

A new ISSF World Cup season has started: Shotgun shooters from all over the world arrived in Acapulco, where they will try to secure the 10 Olympic quota places to be awarded in Trap, Double Trap and Skeet events from today right to the 9th of March. Follow the match live on the ISSF website.

The 2015 ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Acapulco, Mexico, kicks-off today with the first medal match – the Trap Women Finals – scheduled to take place today's afternoon at 16.30.


The first ISSF World Cup Stage of the season was officially opened yesterday evening by the ISSF President Olegario Vazquez Raña and by the President of the Mexician Shooting Federation Jorge Alfonso Pena Soberanis, at the presence of the ISSF Secretary General Franz Schreiber, of the President of the Mexican NOC Carlos Padilla Becerra and of the President of the Mexican Comisión Nacional de Cultura Física y Deporte Mr Jesús Mena Campos.

 

Over 300 athletes coming from 54 nations arrived here in Acapulco to compete in the five Olympic events of Shotgun shooting, trying to achieve one of the 10 Olympic Quota Places to be awarded here.

 

The Trap Women Finals will open the competition, assigning the first medals and quotas at 16.30, today. The Trap Men Finals will follow tomorrow afternoon, while the Double Trap Men Finals will take place on the 5th of March. The Skeet Women and Men Finals will award the last medals and Olympic slots of Acapulco on the 8th and 9th of March.
