The 2013 Asian Champion Pei Ruijiao of the People's Republic of China claimed the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women Junior Gold medal, today, at the 51st ISSF World Championship in all Shooting events in Granada, Spain.
The 1996's Chinese athlete led the Kneeling series, finished the Prone series in second, and then moved up on top again at the end of the Standing with a final score of 455.8 points, establishing the new Junior Final World Record.
Shooting solidly from the first right to the last shot of the final, Pei finished upon the podium with 2 clear points of margin on Nina Christen of Switzerland, today's Silver medallist, who scored 453.8 points.
Germany's Selina Gschwandtner joined them on the podium, claiming Bronze with 443.2 points, securing her second medal in this championship (she had finished in third also at the 10m Air Rifle Women Junior event staged on the 14th of September).
With two athletes in the final, Germany secured the team Gold (Selina Gschwandtner, Nina Laura Kreutzer, Jolyn Beer) with 1736 points. Team Switzerland – also entering two athletes among the finalists – took the Silver (Nina Christen, Marina Boesiger, Ladina Feuz) with 1735 points. Behind them, the People's Republic of China climbed upon the third step of the podium with 1731 points scored by Pei Ruijiao, Qiu Yehan and Gao Chang.
