Julia Eydenzon of the Russian Federation, 32, won her first 10m Running Target world championship title in Granada, today.
The Russian shooter finished atop of the podium after a thrilling neck and neck duel against Viktoriya Rybovalova of the Ukraine in the Gold medal match.
Eydenzon prevailed with a score of 8 to Rybovalova's 6 points after 12 shots.
The Bronze medal went to Eydenzon's teammate Olga Stepanova, four-time Junior European Champion who had never won a world championship medal in this event before. Today, she shot solidly in the Bronze medal match, beating her Chinese opponent Li Xue Yan with a score of 6 to 3 hits.
The People's Republic of China finished anyway atop of teams podium, receiving the Gold medal thanks to the 1130 points scored by Li and her teammates Su Li and Yang Zeng.
The Russian Federation, led by the individual gold medal winner Eydenzon, took the Silver with 1125 points, while the Ukraine was awarded the Bronze with 1092 points.
