Sychra pocketed his first medal of the season at today's Skeet Men final, the last medal match of the ISSF World Cup in Munich. He was followed by Jin Di (CHN) and Sebastian Kuntschik (AUT). The US record-man Dustin David Perry finished in fourth.

Czech Republic's Jan Sychra (45) won the Skeet Men Gold medal match, the last final of the 2014 ISSF World Cup in Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun events in Munich.

The four-time Olympian had to pass through two shoot-offs – after the qualifications (123 hits) and at the end of the semi-final (15 hits) before he could finally secure the brightest medal beating Jin Di of the People's Republic of China 14 to 13 hits in the Gold medal match.

Sychra had won his last ISSF medal last year, in Granda, on the same layout that will be hosting the forthcoming world championship in September. And that's the aim: the 51st ISSF World Championship. In his 30-year long shooting career, the Czech athlete took part in 13 different world championship, never making it to the podium. Will Granada be the right place?

Today's Bronze medal match turned in favor of Austria's 25-year old first-time finalist Sebastian Kuntschik (25), who beat USA's Dustin David Perry 15 to 13 hits, after hitting 15 targets in the semi-final.

But spotlights turned on Perry anyway. The 21-year old athlete form Texas equalled the 124-hit World Record, at today's qualifications. And he did it for the second time. Perry had indeed shot the record also at the first shotgun world cup stage of the year, in Tucson, Arizona, where he had eventually walked out of the final with a Bronze medal.

Today's second US finalist, Frank Thompson, and Cyprus' first-time finalist Anastasios Chapeshis placed in fifth and sixth, respectively, with 14 hits in the semi-final.
