The I.R. Iran Shooting Federation has hosted the 11th & 12th D-course for coaches at the Azadi Sport Complex in Tehran. The course lecturers were for rifle Ms Elham Hashemi Masoumi (B-licence coach) and for shotgun Mr Ahmad Reza Hamouni Haghighat (A-licence coach). The course was held between 16th -19th of September and was conducted in the Farsi language with all course material including course books translated by the lecturers. It brought coaches from the rifle and shotgun disciplines together for an intensive course of shotgun and Rifle technique, planning and organisation for coaches and practical physical training for shooters. A total of 59 coaches, made up of 18 from shotgun and 41 from rifle, registered to take part in the course.

The President of the I.R. Shooting Federation Mr Seyed Mahdi Hashemi opened the course and welcomed the ISSF Training Academy to Iran and spoke of the commitment of the course lecturers and the desire for the federation to increase the level of coach education for the shooting sports in Iran.

Students of the course undertook a series of lectures that included practical coaching tasks for which they had to prepare and evaluate solutions. The course concluded with a written examination and President Hashemi and Mr Kevin Kilty awarded diplomas to the successful students.

Mr Kevin Kilty on behalf of the ISSF Training Academy thanked the I.R. Iran Shooting Federation for hosting the course and congratulated the participants on their successful completion of the course. He hoped that this course would be the first of many future D-courses that the federation would host and wished the coaches well in their careers and that he hoped to see some of them on future courses of the ISSF Training Academy.
