USA’s Hadden secured the brightest medal with four targets of advantage on his followers. Italy’s Frasca and Russia’s Alipov shot-off for Silver, while the reigning world champion Serrano did not make it to the podium. Next step: London.

Ryan Hadden won today’s Trap Men Final at the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Tucson, Arizona, bringing the American flag atop of the podium once again.

The US shooter made it to the final in the lead, with a qualification score of 123 targets, a one target of head start on his followers.

Going through the 25-target final match, Hadden did not miss a target, ending up with a perfect medal match and a total score of 148 hits. He had won two ISSF World Cup Stages in 2009, and was missing from an ISSF podium since 2010.

Climbing to the highest step of the podium, the American winner disappointed Italy’s Erminio Frasca. The 28-year old Olympian missed twice in the final, closing his match with a total score of 144 hits, tied to Russia’s 2004 Olympic Champion Alexey Alipov.

The Silver and the Bronze medal were therefore assigned through a shoot-off, Italy’s Frasca winning the Silver with two hits to Russia’s Alipov one.

Today’s second Italian finalist, Rodolfo Viganò, 41, made it to the final with a qualification score of 119 hits, finishing then in fourth with 143 hits. He was followed by Brazil’s first time finalist Roberto Schmits, 43, with 141 hits.

The reigning World Champion, Spain’s Jesus Serrano, did not make it to the podium. The 33-year old shooter qualified with 120 hits, far from the leadership of the match, and after missing five in the final, he placed in sixth with and overall score of 140 total hits.

The Trap Men Final round concluded the ISSF Shotgun World Cup Stage in Tucson, Arizona.

The ISSF World Cup Series will now continue with a Pre-Olympic World Cup Stage in all events staged on London’s Olympic venues, starting from the 17th of April.
