Alison Weisz, who took silver behind her United States team-mate Sagen Maddalena in the 10m air rifle women event at the CAT XIV Rifle & Pistol Championships in Buenos Aires, turned the tables in the 10m rifle mixed team event to claim a gold.

Weisz and her team-mate Rylan Kissell earned a 17-13 win over Maddalena – who also won individual 25m pistol gold at these Championships of the Americas – and Ivan Roe, the individual 50m rifle 3 positions men winner in the gold-medal match.

The bronze-medal match at the Argentine Federal Shooting Range saw the Mexico 2 pairing of Goretti Zumaya Flores and Edson Ramirez Ramos, the 10m air rifle men silver medallist, defeat the home team of Fernanda Russo and Alexis Eberhardt 17-13.

One more Paris 2024 quota places is on offer at the Championships – in the 25m rapid fire pistol men event with which the competition concludes tomorrow (April 7).

A total of 168 athletes from 21 countries are involved in these Championships.
