World Championship Rifle/Pistol in Cairo is over

The ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol ended in Cairo, Egypt. More than 1000 athletes from 88 countries from all continents took part in it.

Sportsmen competed for 32 Quota Places to Paris-2024 in 8 Olympic events. They were won by athletes from 15 countries: 

People’s Republic of China – 8 Quotas

Republic of Korea – 5 Quotas

Poland – 3 Quotas

India, Ukraine, USA, Pakistan – 2 Quotas each

Czech Republic, Italy, Norway, Germany, Armenia, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria – 1 Quota each.

 

25 countries took World Championship’s medals in 68 events, 17 from Europe, 7 from Asia and 1 from Americas. 

 

Today there were 3 more finals in 300m Rifle events. All podium was occupied by European athletes.

First place in medal standing took People’s Republic of China: 27 Gold, 16 Silver and 15 Bronze (58 in total). India is on the second place: 12 Gold, 9 Silver and 13 Bronze (34 in total), Norway is on the third position: 7 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze (12 in total).
