French Carole CORMENIER and American Derrick Scott MEIN win the World Championship in Trap!

The first Seniors medals were played today at the ISSF World Championship Shotgun which continues in Osijek, Croatia. The top 4 athletes in each event, Trap Men and Trap Women, won Quota Places to Paris-2024.

Carole CORMENIER from France won her first World Championship Gold in Trap Women. Her opponent in the fight for the Gold was the Tokyo-2020 Olympic champion in Trap Mixed Team Fatima GALVEZ from Spain. Carole left her opponent no chance and won with Golden Hit. Olympic champion Tokyo-2020 Zuzana REHAK STEFECEKOVA from Slovakia won Bronze.

 

All three athletes, Carole CORMENIER, Fatima GALVEZ and Zuzana REHAK STEFECEKOVA, won Quota Places to Paris-2024 for their countries, France, Spain and Slovakia. One more Quota in this event was won by Catherine SKINNER from Australia.

 

American Derrick Scott MEIN became the world champion in Trap Men, who won Quota place for his country. Silver and Quota Place were won by Nathan HALES from Great Britain. Kun-Pi YANG from Chinese Taipei won Bronze and one more Quota place.

Bhowneesh MENDIRATTA won Quota for India.
